Q. What kind of experience can I enjoy?

A. You can enjoy traditional Japanese culture in a calm evening atmosphere, centered around mochi pounding, matcha tea, and an authentic Japanese sword experience.

Q. Is same-day booking available?

A. Even if no slots are available on the booking page, please contact us at info@experience-kyoto.com, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Q. Can I make a group reservation?

A. Yes, if there are no existing bookings, we can accommodate group reservations. Please contact us at info@experience-kyoto.com at least one day in advance.

Q. How long does the experience take?

A.It’s 90 minutes.

Q. What are the operating hours?

A. There are two sessions: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM and
8:30 PM – 10:00 PM.

Q. Is English support available?

A. Yes, all explanations are provided in English.

Q. Is it okay for beginners?

A. Absolutely. Our staff will carefully guide you, so anyone can enjoy the experience.

Q. Can I join alone?

A. Yes, solo guests are very welcome.

Q. Is there a dress code?

A. There is no specific dress code, but we recommend wearing comfortable clothing.

Q. Do you accommodate food allergies?

A. Yes, please inform us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Q. Can I take photos and videos?

A. Yes, photography and video recording are allowed. Please feel free to capture your memories.
We also offer complimentary photos taken by our staff, which will be sent to you by email at a later date.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. Free cancellation is available up to 4 days in advance.
From 3 to 2 days before: 50% cancellation fee.
The day before or on the day: 100% cancellation fee.

Q. Will the experience be held in case of rain?

A. Yes, the experience is held indoors, so it will take place regardless of the weather.

Q. Can children participate?

A. Yes, there is no age restriction, but young children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q. Can we eat the mochi on the spot?

A. Yes, after the mochi pounding, you will have time to enjoy eating it using a traditional Japanese charcoal grill (shichirin). Please experience Japanese tradition with all your senses.

Q. How can I get there?

A. By train:
* Keifuku Electric Railroad (Randen) “Ryoanji Station”
 → About a 2–3 minute walk (highly recommended due to its proximity)
* “Myoshinji Station” → About a 5-minute walk
* “Tojiin / Ritsumeikan University Kinugasa Campus-mae Station” → About a 5-minute walk

By bus:
* “Myoshinji Kitamon-mae” bus stop → About a 5-minute walk
* “Ryoanji-mae” bus stop → About a 6-minute walk

Q. How much mochi is provided?

A. We use about 1.3 kg of mochi per session, so it’s quite a generous amount. As this is an experience, you are welcome to eat as much as you like, and it’s perfectly fine if you don’t finish it.

Q. Is parking available?

A. We do not have a dedicated parking lot, so please use nearby coin parking facilities.

Q. Is it okay to bring an infant?

A. Yes, no problem at all.
There are relatively few steps, and strollers can be brought indoors, so you can feel at ease.
